Family Friendly

Surprisingly at just 1 even P got to have a go on a selection of Winter Wonderland rides. So, at 3 you can imagine what best version of his life Theon was living. From bumper cars to carousels, roller coasters to ghost trains and ferris wheels. There were indoor and outdoor activities as well as your usual fairground style games and shows. Additional tickets can also be purchased for the ice rink attractions which include a performance of Paddington on ice.

Kids rides cost around £2/3 a go, £3-5 for most adults. With 5 balls costing around £10 for the knock ’em game stands, with the chance to win big plushies.

On top of the usual fairground rides and stalls the park also hosts a circus, an ice rink, a Bavarian village, gift shop and a vast selection of bars and eating areas.

Food & Refreshments

There was a great selection of food on offer from gluten free to veggie and vegan. However, I have to say we had the best steak and chips we’ve had in a LONG time. I’m not ashamed to admit how shocked we were. Past experience, meant that we had extremely low expectations of any street food that we might find. Or that we’d find anything remotely edible that didn’t break the bank. We got our garlic butter steak and chips from the Growler’s street food van. At £10 a serving the portions were generous, but the taste…oh my god; pure joy!

Whilst in the park we ordered chips on a stick; see Theon below (not gonna lie, absolute waste of time, but the pictures are priceless!), 3 mulled wins, two steak and chips, one portion of halloumi fries, 2 hotdogs (from the Bavarian village), 3 crepes (from the cocktail and crepes shack) at a total cost of £78.50. Slightly pricey, but not the most I’ve paid at this kind of event and to be fair the portions were big enough to stuff 4 adults and 2 small children.

Highlights

I think the highlight for me was that I got to have a relatively grown up afternoon/evening out, that also appeased the kids. Although, a little loud and full on, it was great as a one off, yearly treat. And every last one of us walked away with a smile and lots of lovely memories.

Holidays are coming!

Much love,

Berrit x
