Femme Luxe Review*: With Stylist Jodie Mills

Dressing Up To Stay In

This is an unpaid review of product gifted by Femme Luxe. When Naomi asked me if I wanted to collaborate with her on some styling articles and mentioned that I would also be able to choose some items from the latest Femme Luxe range, there was absolutely no way I was going to say no!

After seeing her last post, I knew I’d be able to choose something effortlessly cool and comfortable. Which, let’s be honest, is all most of us have wanted for the last few months. But, ever the optimist, I have styled some of their more casual wear. Hopefully in way that will have you counting down to “freedom” (whatever that was!).

Loungewear

Firstly, I decided to go down the loungewear route with a pair of grey high waisted lightweight joggers (£13.99!) and the ‘Honey’ oversized white t-shirt. Which is ridiculously affordable at only £7.99.

I am quite short (5’3”). And I often find that jogging bottoms can make me look even shorter. So, the fact that these are high waisted give the illusion that I have longer legs, which is the stuff of dreams usually.  With the rise of Stacey Dooley in her two-piece tracksuits with sandals and the Kardashian’s mixing a jogging bottom with a black lace body suit and a pair of “barely there” heels, they are no longer associated with not making an effort. Instead they should be seen as a staple in everyone’s wardrobe.

Another option I went for was a black two piece tracksuit with long sleeve crop top. I will admit however, that whilst I really liked it, it is not true to size. I’ve therefore not included it in my review and would recommend instead that if ordering you size up.

Bodycon Mini

Next I decided to jump out of my comfort zone. I went with this bodycon dress,  (£15.99). I tend to shy away from tight fitting clothes purely down to comfort. But, this hugs in all the right places and looked great paired with a pair of trainers to give a more casual feel. However, as soon as I’m let loose in Northern Quarter, I know this will look great dressed up with a pair of sandals and a shoulder bag.

One thing I would say is, this dress is short so you can’t be afraid to flash your pins in this number!

Freedom

I wanted to take the ‘Honey’ oversized t-shirt from the first outfit and show its versatility. If you ask me a slogan white tee can make most outfits effortlessly chic. I am a firm believer in re-wearing clothes so something that can be chucked on with almost anything, is vital!

With the opening of beer gardens nearing and the promise of more Sun (maybe not in Manchester but we can keep our fingers crossed) I wanted to show you how this t-shirt can be dressed up by simply tying it at the waist (or tucking if you don’t want to show your tummy). By sticking on a simple black skirt, a pair of heels and a statement headband, you can make a full I’ve-made-an-effort impact.

I’d also recommend pairing it with some straight leg jeans or trousers and a pair of trainers, both of which can be sourced from the Femme Luxe website.
