2019 Kids Books: Theon’s Top 5

Much like my list of books to finish, Theon’s library is ever growing. We had to be quite strict to get our recommendations for 2019 down to just a handful. But here it is, Theon’s top 5 kids books for 2019.

Pete The Cat (And His 4 Groovy Buttons)

Is Theon’s current obsession! Partly because of it’s bright colours and nonsense theme that actually has a moral. But also because it’s been designed to be interactive, further bolstered by it’s downloadable tunes to accompany each adventure.

Animalphabet

Creatively crafted to be tactile with its origami style, layered pages. Julia Donaldson’s latest offering goes through the animals of the alphabet beautifully.

You’re All My Favourites

Gifted to Theon on the arrival of his baby sister. ‘You’re All My Favourites’, tells the story of sibling bears who discover that they can all be their parents favourites.

Elmo’s Little Library

A great alternative to screen time if you’re trying to convince your toddler to put down the iPad and give reading a go. All the same adventures panning out in bright, primary shades. This portable box of four books is great for practicing speech and sound. In that well loved Sesame Street way.

The Hug

A beautifully illustrated book by Eoin McLaughlin.

“All Hedgehog wants is a hug but he’s just too prickly for any of his animal friends; Tortoise also needs a cuddle but he has a hard shell… What will the two of them do? “

We’re on the hunt for new reads too. So, if you have any recommendations pop them in the comments below.

Until then, happy reading!

Much Love,

The Boos & The Berrit xxx
